So I’m not gonna lie, when it came to planning RJs birthday trip I was super excited. As the days ticked down and it got closer??? Dread! I just knew I was plum crazy for planning a trip that would take us 12 hours to drive to with a 3 year old and an infant that hates the car seat! Wtf was I thinking?? Holidays in NYC are iconic. I can remember watching Christmas movies from when I was much younger and seeing kids/families toy shopping and 9/10 it was in one of the BIG toy stores in NYC. I’m pretty sure New Yorkers everywhere were slightly heartbroken when FAO Schwarz, the most famous toys store in the world closed its doors in July of 2015 due to the cost of rental in the city. Shortly following, Toys R Us closed the doors of their Times Square location, another huge store that drew tourists in with its huge Ferris Wheel and 4000 square foot Barbie dollhouse.
