10 Amazing Things to Do In NYC This Fall |Explore NYC

Fall is finally here and I am finally in my happy place! While I’m not a full-fledged pumpkin spice girl, fall is hands down my favorite season. I love the fall colors, the smell, sweater weather, all things pumpkin and apple, & most importantly the lead up to the holidays. Being an NYC girl I’ve enjoyed fall in the city my entire life and I’m excited the boys are a little bit older and can enjoy the fall activities that I love with me! Check out some of my favorite things to do during fall (with and without kids) in NYC below.

Should I Take My Toddler to See SMALLFOOT? |No Spoiler Review

Last month, RJ and I got to check out an advanced screening of SMALLFOOT at the Crosby Street Hotel (did you know they had a whole movie theatre in there?! Check out my friend Sanaa’s hotel review). I’m always a little hesitant about taking RJ to the movies because he’s one of those kids that yell at the screen and talk during the whole movie but thankfully the theatre was full of kids hyped up on dummies, cotton candy and popcorn so he wasn’t the only one that had EVERYTHING to say throughout the entire movie.

What's On The Outside Counts: Why We Choose JOHNSON’S® for our Bedtime Routine

I know I cant be the only one that feels like as mothers in the age of social media our decisions are constantly under a microscope. People are telling us whats best for our baby before they're even born. You're having a baby? You definitely need to breastfeed over formula. You had pizza at your one year olds birthday party? You're horrible for not being a Pinterest mom and not serving homemade dinosaur shaped vegan chicken nuggets. Vaccinate? Poison. Don't vaccinate? Selfish. What's going into our child's bodies is constantly critiqued and we often neglect to remember that what we use on the outside is just as important.

If you know me then you have at some point heard me profess my love for all things Harry Potter. I fell in love with the wizarding world in elementary school and I’ve been a potterhead ever since. I watch the movies every single time they’re on tv, the DVDs got me through some of my loneliest moments when I first moved back to NYC and I can read the entire series in a week without skipping a beat.

We're two weeks away from back to school here in NYC and if you're anything like me (a procrastinator) you still have some shopping to get done. My back to school list isn't that long because RJ is only going to pre-k and he wears uniform, but that doesn't stop me from wanting some school supplies in the house for writing practice, and he gets to dress down once a week so he definitely needs clothes since he grew TWO sizes last school year.

It's really important to me to support black owned businesses so of course when I started the (google) search for supplies that's what I wanted to round up. From stationary to t-shirts, I've included the brands I've found for all you black owned back to school needs.
